Chickenhawk Jennifer Rubin Supports Dark Brandon’s War on America
By John Seiler
Until Trump came along, WaPo columnist Jennifer Rubin called herself a conservative and a Republican. She really was just a chickenhawk warmonger; and back then the GOP was backing the wars more than the DemLeftParty.
Since 2016 she has hated Trump and the GOP. Her new column backs Biden’s infamous Sept. 1 “Dark Brandon” speech, with its fascist tone and red-fascist setting, in which he attacked all 74 million “MAGA Republicans” who voted for Trump.
She ties Trump voters to the Southern side in the American Civil War. Even though most, like me, are Yankees who are glad the country stayed united. But nowhere does she mention all the wars she backed: Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Libya, etc. And especially she doesn’t mention the ongoing Ukraine War.
And there’s the rub. The MAGA Republicans, especially at Trump’s base, are against that war. Trump himself has been blasted by the warmongers for saying there should be a ceasefire and a peace deal – for which he was praised by none other than leftist linguist Noam Chomsky.
Rubin was born in 1962. The U.S. Army takes recruits up to age 42, which she was in 2004. So she could have joined the army as late as 2006, received training in boot camp and a specialty, and have been sent to fight in Iraq or Afghanistan. But she didn’t.
Oh, I get it. You and your children are sent to these insane wars to die for her warmongering ideology, while she cheerleads from the sidelines – then calls you a MAGA Republican traitor who wants to own a Southern plantation filled with slaves!
She writes, “If left undisturbed, the extreme White Christian nationalism of today will inevitably lead to violence, cruelty and lawlessness.” Here’s a rule of thumb: if it takes four words to describe something – such as “extreme White Christian nationalism” – it’s just a fake epithet. Clearly that’s what’s going on here.
Of course, there are people – like most of those guys who died in Rubin’s wars – who are patriots and Christians. But they wouldn’t consider themselves extreme. And the white patriots died face down in the muck next to their black, Hispanic and Asian buddies.
Thank God I served in the U.S. Army 1978-82, when there were no wars except Jimmy Carter’s Desert One disaster, with eight Americans KIA. But our troops were a combination of the diverse America back then: all races, creeds and colors. All patriots, too. Sure, a few guys joined because they stole a car and the judge said, “Jail or boot camp?” But they all did their jobs and kept America safe and free.
Come to think of it, Rubin herself could have joined in 1980, when she was 18. She could have become a lifer, fought in Iraq in Desert Storm 1990-91; the Balkans 1999-20; Afghanistan 2001-2021; and Iraq again, 2003 to now. She could have become Chairperson of the Joint Chiefs of Staff today, instead of Gen. Milley.
She’s also like Biden that way. Biden himself never served in the military. Born in 1942, in 1964 he could have been a newly minted butter-bars lieutenant. Just in time to join LBJ’s escalation of the Vietnam War in early 1965. But Biden didn’t join. Those who took his place in the rice paddies of Nam, and survived, are the white hairs at the MAGA rallies he denounces.
Biden hates those 75 million Trump supporters with a passion. Even though most of the troops in his military, except for the top brass, are MAGA Republicans. He sends them over there to Poland and Romania to transship arms to the Ukrainians, who die pointlessly by the thousands in this Brandon-Rubin war. And if America gets involved directly, it’s these MAGA Republican troops who will die first – maybe by the thousands and the tens of thousands.
No wonder U.S. military recruitment is crashing. Who wants to fight and die in stupid wars for people who hate you like Biden and Rubin?
