Hi. I haven’t posted here in a while because a close friend died on Jan. 14. Life is so fragile. Maybe that also explains the angry tone of my article, below, for Fleming.Foundation on the rancid U.S. regime for causing the slaughter in Ukraine. In case you don’t know, I was the coldest of the Cold Warriors during the Soviet period. I grew up hearing of the oppression of relatives in Soviet-bloc Romania. I joined the U.S. Army in 1978, learned Russian, and was stationed in West Germany to keep out the Russians. When the Soviet Union abolished itself in 1991, I rejoiced. Then Bill and Hillary Clinton venally broke GHW Bush’s promise not to advance Nato “one inch” eastward, setting in motion the train of abuses that has led to this war.
For Fleming Foundation:
Christian vs. Christian
By John Seiler
Since the Berlin Wall fell in 1989, signaling the end of anti-Christian, “godless Communism” in most of the world, a lot of Christians have been killed due to the actions of the U.S. government in its pointless wars. A lot more Muslims have been killed. But Christians, too.
The wars in Iraq, especially the one started in 2003 by that good Christian gentleman George W. Bush, destroyed its Christian community that extended back to Apostolic times. Somehow they survived invasions and occupation by the numerous conquerors over the centuries, but not the U.S. regime.
And let’s not forget in 1999, Bill and lovely Hillary Clinton, the co-presidents, murdered 5,000 Serbs and gave Kosovo to the KLA terrorists, also nearly causing a nuclear war with Russia.
The 2014 putsch against the legitimate, democratic, elected government of Ukraine put in charge a U.S. puppet regime, currently headed by their version of Woody Allen, whom the U.S. propaganda machine, including the media – but I repeat myself – actually is touting as Ukraine’s George Washington. But wasn’t he an evil, racist slaveholder? Never mind.
Now, under good Christian gentleman Joe Biden, we’re at the nuclear level of threats, which could kill millions of Christians in Eastern Europe, maybe everywhere, including here in America. Pepe Escobar, one of our best foreign policy commentators, writes of the comedian, “The (nuclear) straw that (nearly) broke the Bear’s back – and forced it to pounce – was Comedian/Ukrainian President Volodymy Zelensky, back from the Russophobia-drenched Munich Security Conference where he was hailed like a Messiah, saying that the 1994 Budapest memorandum should be revised and Ukraine should be nuclear-rearmed.
“That would be the equivalent of a nuclear Mexico south of the Hegemon.”
As I write on Sunday morning, getting ready to go to Mass, CBS News reported, “Kyiv — In a dramatic escalation of East-West tensions over Russia's invasion of Ukraine, President Vladimir Putin ordered Russian nuclear deterrent forces put on alert Sunday in response to what he called ‘aggressive statements’ by leading NATO powers.”
Not a bad way to go, really, praying for repentance while a nuke pops over my church. But I hope it doesn’t happen, just as I hope the war in Ukraine ends soon and the killing of Christians stops.
As readers may remember, over the past year I have written several articles on this site about how I didn’t think there would be a war, except maybe for Russia to intervene in the Eastern “breakaway provinces” of Ukraine, where the majority is Russian. I misperceived how venal and indeed murderous the U.S. regime is – yes, it is Biden and the rest of them who caused this. I thought Putin would be satisfied with Ukraine not becoming part of Nato, and would just wait until Biden became preoccupied with a Republican-led Congress, then wait further until a new president, maybe Trump, was elected, then something could be arranged.
But I “misunderestimated,” to use a Bushism, how dumb is our foreign policy establishment. There’s a straight line from how badly post-Soviet Russia was treated by the U.S. in the 1990s to today’s crisis. Pat Buchanan’s latest column goes over the history, concluding, “Vladimir Putin did exactly what he warned us he would do.”
When I look at the top U.S. “leaders,” I see foolish and immature people: Biden, Harris, Klain, Sullivan, Psaki. Not one served a minute in the U.S. military. They’re playing games here. Biden’s experience with Ukraine is taking their bribes. The others are just university-trained fools. As Escobar wrote, “This is what happens when a bunch of ragged hyenas, jackals and tiny rodents poke The Bear: a new geopolitical order is born at breathtaking speed.”
The U.S. media, even Fox News except for Tucker Carlson, all has come aboard the Biden Express to Armageddon. It’s nearly impossible to get news on what’s going on. The U.S. regime and its media puppets have done a good job of brainwashing the public, once again. As Richard Hanania pointed out, the idea that Russia somehow rigged the 2016 election with propaganda is disproved how pale their 2022 propaganda is compared to the ongoing U.S. lie machine. On this site starting in 2016, I made a similar point: The Russians weren’t capable of influencing our election.
One thing we can know: The Russians will see this through, even if it means nuclear war. See the movie “Enemy at the Gates,” a not bad depiction of the Battle of Stalingrad. Or the Russian series “Life and Fate,” based on Vasily Grossman’s novel, also about Stalingrad, a book banned by the Soviets.
As I have written in all my articles on this, to repeat, this all could have been avoided by “Findlandizing” Ukraine, making it a neutral country and guaranteeing it never would join Nato. Then it could be rebuilt.
But that didn’t happen. Now thousands of Christians are being slaughtered once again.
See you in the bomb shelter.
