How fast will Biden be switched out?
A friend in Idaho sent me this video of Biden a day after the disastrous debate:
Dr. Jill treats Joe like a 7-year-old who just finished last in a class quiz. “You answered every question!” And it’s just going to get worse.
Tucker Carlson tweeted:
All this nonsense you read about how “only Biden can make the decision to leave” is just so absurd. That’s not how the Democratic Party works. No individual is more important than the collective. That’s the whole point of the party. And in Biden’s specific case, he’s got no constituency in Washington. Yes, Ron Klain and 85-year-old Ted Kaufman benefit directly from his presidency, but it’s a small group. The rest of the city has no loyalty to Biden. They don’t care about him; they’ve never taken him seriously. Any president works for them as long as he’s a Democrat. It’s never personal with these people because the individual doesn’t matter.
The problem the Democrats had in both 2016 and 2020 was their talent pool was so low. The candidate most preffered by their base was Bernie Sanders. But the billionaires atop their party didn’t want him to come in, impose socialism, and steal all their stuff. So as Al Gore’s campaign manager, Donna Brazile, blurted out in 2017, the party “robbed” Bernie and gave the 2016 nomination to Hillary.
In 2020, Bernie was robbed again. I remember Trump taunting Bernie for not protesting he was robbed twice. The problem was Biden, whom everyone knew even then was suffering from dementia, was the best they had. But now Biden is expendable.
Tucker again:
From an unusually good source: Obama’s tweet supporting Joe Biden was disingenuous. In private, Obama is telling people Biden can’t win, and he is therefore in favor of an open convention. Obama will not say whom he supports, nor as of yesterday afternoon had he met personally with Biden to deliver the message. Relations between the Obamas and the Bidens have never been warm. At times they’ve been hostile. But recently they’ve deteriorated further, mostly due to Jill Biden. In the hours and days after the debate, she kept her husband cloistered away from anyone who might convince him to drop out. Jill Biden is the driving force behind her husband’s reelection campaign, just as she was in 2020, when other members of the family (including Biden’s sister Val) considered him too impaired to run. The next generation of potential Democratic candidates understands all this as an opportunity and they’re circling, particularly Gretchen Whitmer, who is promoting herself aggressively.
I hope it’s Whitmer. Then people will look closely at how she ruined my home state, Michigan.
But Kamala actually is looking good in the polls. Interactive Polls today:
If Joe Biden drops out of the 2024 race, who would you rather see as the Democratic nominee in 2024?
• Kamala Harris: 31%
• Gavin Newsom: 17%
• Pete Buttigieg: 8%
• Bernie Sanders: 7%
• Gretchen Whitmer: 6%
• Elizabeth Warren: 4%
• A. Ocasio-Cortez: 3%
• Amy Klobuchar: 2%
---
• Undecided: 20%
True, Kamala still is an airhead and giggles all the time. But at least she’s sentient. And the media will cover up her main faults.
It’s also interesting how glamour boy Newsom has dropped from favor. People have been seeing how he has made this once-great state even worse than it was before he took over almost six years ago.
I think the Democratic Honchos are using the Independence Day weekend to formulate a plan. Maybe Dr. Jill will convince Biden to drop out of the race, but stay as president. Kamala will be switched in at the August convention.
Then the attacks on Trump will really begin.
