Hutchinson Joke Candidacy, Trump, Biden, Insanity
As this once-great country slides rapidly down the sewer pipes of history, which might be the only place to survive – underground – if Biden accidentally SITS on the Nuclear Button, I try to find some humor.
Consider former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, age 72, who just said of the Trumpster on, where else, CNN, “I don’t believe he can beat Biden. And even though you can look at the polls now and say, ‘Well, you know, he’s running pretty well against Biden,’ but others run even better against Biden.”
Actually, because MAGA is at least 30% of GOP voters, only Trump even has a chance of beating the Democrat nominee. Who will not be Biden, currently nearly comatose. Unless Trump is on the ticket, the MAGA minions will just back a third party, or stay home. The Libertarian Party still is out there. I voted for them in 2012 instead of the odious Romney, now finally retiring from the Senate. So is the Constitution Party, whom I voted for in 2008 instead of the psychotic warmonger John McCain.
The LP also has a sense of humor. On Sept. 12 they put out a press release, “LNC Seeks to Protect America with Conservatorships for President Joe Biden and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell…. The clear incapacitation, mental lapses, and deficiencies in decision-making that are clearly observable in numerous, recent, and well-publicized instances necessitate these actions.
“Both subjects’ ability to receive and evaluate information effectively, make decisions, and to communicate are impaired to such an extent that they lack the capacity to represent themselves or the interests of Americans. As neither the men themselves, nor either of the dominant political parties will take action to remove President Biden or Senate Minority Leader McConnell, the only party of principle, the Libertarian Party, feels it is its obligation to move forward on the issue.”
Reported the Hill: “Hutchinson, also the former governor of Arkansas, said Trump’s political style, which he described as ‘isolationist,’ can’t win elections anymore. He argued that effect would be felt in races down the ballot from the presidency as well.”
Isolationist? Yeah, Asa, how’s that Ukraine War counteroffensive going? Think maybe we should have stayed out of that one?
Here’s the results of an August CNN poll: “While nearly two-thirds of Democrats back military training (64%), support among independents and Republicans drops to about half (48% among each group). There’s an even larger partisan gap over providing weapons to Ukraine, with 61% of Democrats behind that compared with 39% of independents and just 30% of Republicans. Less than 20% across parties back providing US military forces to participate in combat operations (19% among Democrats, 18% among independents and 16% among Republicans).”
Progressives wonder why conservative Republicans have backed past wars, but not this one. Here’s a hint: They may not be bright, but they finally figured out their kids are the ones who join the military and die in these suckers’ wars, while the liberal Democrats’ kids avoid military service, go to college and grow up to start the wars. Hutchinson himself never joined the military. Neither did Nikki Haley, Chris Christie and the other GOP warmongers.
Those who favor wars first should fight in them.
Here's a saying: Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me thrice and I’m a conservative Republican. But that’s enough. No fourth time.
