Independence Day, Trump Rally, French Riots, Ukraine
By John Seiler
As I write this, on Rumble I’m watching Trump’s South Carolina rally for Independence Day weekend. A choir just sang “America the Beautiful.” Now Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is speaking, describing the House investigations into President Biden, which revealed $5 million in bribes; and 15 calls by Hunter Biden, as well as two with the Big Guy, with Ukrainian oligarchs, which she said made a mockery of Trump’s impeachment and his ongoing persecution by the Biden-Garland Justice Department. Of Joe and Hunter, she said, “Selling out America has made them rich.” Then she said she has introduced articles of impeachment against Biden, AG Garland, FBI boss Christopher Wray and Homeland Security boss Mayorkas.
She said she was introducing legislation to cut funding to the war in Ukraine, and America only should support peace. She said the Washington establishment only wants to “kill people in foreign wars…. We’re $32 trillion in debt …. America has a failing economy …. It’s time to end the bloody foreign wars.”
Meanwhile, over in France, massive riots are striking the country after the death in police custody of a young minority man, which is being compared to the George Floyd riots here in 2020. President Macron, a caricature of what Americans think of as a feckless Frenchie, blamed social media for “inciting riots.”
This is really interesting for reasons he doesn’t understand. Cell phones were a key technology linking Afghanistan’s Taliban fighters to one another as they drove out the Yankee invaders two years ago, Biden’s first big foreign policy failure. And modern communications technology not only is a key to what’s going on in Ukraine, but is evolving rapidly on both sides.
I just turned off Marj’s speech because her voice is annoying …
So here we are, America, another Independence Day with the country obviously divided. The Old America is on display in the Palmetto State, still rallying to patriotism, with Republicans now turning firmly back to George Washington’s admonition in his Farewell Address in 1796:
Why, by interweaving our destiny with that of any part of Europe, entangle our peace and prosperity in the toils of European ambition, rivalship, interest, humor, or caprice? It is our true policy to steer clear of permanent alliances with any portion of the foreign world.
Meanwhile, Democrats, even so-called Progressives like Bernie Sanders and AOC and her Squad, are backing Biden’s Bribery War full tilt. It’s a strange world. And it shows how divided America is. Because these Democrats – I read them on Twitter – really hate Republicans not just on the war, but on all the cultural issues, especially the “trans” stuff and, rabidly, on abortion. It’s no longer the 1990s, when Bill and Hillary were promising abortion would be “safe, legal and rare.” Now, Democrats want it unsafe (in California, there are almost no rules on who performs the grisly procedure), mandatory and frequent.
The French riots are a harbinger of a return of our own 2020 riots. It’s going to happen. I was born in 1955, so I remember the 1965 Watts riot, then, especially, the 1967 Detroit riots, because I lived 20 miles west of that burning city. If something does happen now, it will be far worse than what’s going on in France because Americans are heavily armed. The one half of the country who are Democrats has been trying ever so hard to grab the guns of the other half, but failed. Gov. Gavin Newsom, who has a high chance of becoming president, even proposed a constitutional amendment to gut the 2nd Amendment. It never will happen, but shows where his thinking, and that of his financial supporters in the Democrat oligarchy, is going.
Click here for a video of the streets of Paris today, lined with burned out cars. It’s all falling apart. America doesn’t have troops directly fighting in Ukraine, but the 101st Airborne is in Romania, ready to cross the border. Soon perhaps, those troops will be called back home to quell rioting in our streets. Am I exaggerating? In 1967, when the Detroit riots got so out of control the Michigan National Guard couldn’t handle it, the mayhem only could be ended when LBJ sent in the 82nd Airborne and 101st Airborne, both fresh from combat in Vietnam. Below is a video of the 82nd on patrol. Notice the arm patches. The 101st’s motto: Rendezvous With Destiny.
Happy Independence Day!
