Steel, Baugh, Maryott needed in Congress

... along with other Republicans to stop Dem Tyranny

Michelle Steel is my current congresswoman, and she’s been great and needs to be re-elected. I’ve known her for decades, since when she was on the state Board of Equalization and an OC Supervisor. Due to redistricting, her district is moving northwest.

So I’m hoping Scott Baugh, another excellent candidate I’ve known since he was Republican Assembly leader in the 1990s, wins here and becomes my new representative.

To the southeast, Brian Maryott is running. I haven’t met him, but he also would be excellent.

They’re running, respectively, against three horrible candidates, respectively: Jay Chen, Rep. Katie Porter and Rep. Mike Levin. All are obsessed with pushing abortion, even though it already is legal in California, unfortunately; and with Prop. 1 likely to pass on Nov. 8, will become legal right up to an instant before birth. How grisly are these candidates? Here’s a typical ad. Message from Democrats: Kill the babies! Kill them all!

That ad makes me so pig-biting mad I’m tempted to move northwest into Michelle’s district so I can vote for her again! But I’m not a Dem, so I won’t cheat.

Abortion is all the Dems have left. Inflation, schools, crime, immigration — all are losing issues for them. Actually, abortion also is a losing issue. Deep down, even people who want abortion legal, at least for the first three months, are disgusted with the issue, especially the Dems’ obsession with making it legal right up to the second before birth.

Dark Brandon Arrives

President Biden was out here the last couple of days campaigning for them. He was in his “Dark Brandon” mode, threatening Our Democracy will end if we don’t vote to keep his tyranny in power.

But let’s return to our Dynamic Trio: Steel, Baugh and Maryott. When they get into the new GOP majority, they need to join in deep investigations of Dem tyranny. I don’t even use the word “Democrat,” because this isn’t the Democratic Party of my youth in the 1960s, working-class folks in my factory town in Michigan — Harry Truman-JFK Democrats who were pro-life and loved America.

Dem Disinformation

These new Dems are obsessed with destroying our traditional American liberties and enslaving us. Consider two recent stories. First, from The Intercept, a liberal publication no friend to Republicans: “TRUTH COPS: Leaked Documents Outline DHS’s Plans to Police Disinformation.”

Censorship? In America? Yep, that’s what the Dem Party is imposing. The story:

THE DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY is quietly broadening its efforts to curb speech it considers dangerous, an investigation by The Intercept has found. Years of internal DHS memos, emails, and documents — obtained via leaks and an ongoing lawsuit, as well as public documents — illustrate an expansive effort by the agency to influence tech platforms.

Sounds like something from 1930s Germany. Didn’t my father and uncles fight a long war against that?

By the way, when Steel, Baugh and Maryott get going in January, they need to work to abolish the DHS and impeach Secretary Mayorkas. Republicans under President Bush made the mistake two decades ago of imposing this Gestapo-like agency on us. Yours truly warned against it in the pages of the OC Register at the time, predicting it would be turned against Republicans themselves. That obviously now has happened.

FBI Politicization

Next, the conservative National Review reported on Friday, Nov. 4: “House Republicans Release Extensive Report Detailing FBI Politicization.” The story:

House Republicans on the Judiciary Committee released a 1,000-page report on Friday outlining how the FBI and Justice Department have abandoned their commitment to political neutrality in recent years.

The report, which relies heavily on whistleblower accounts, is set to serve as a roadmap for the oversight investigation into the politicization of federal law enforcement that Republicans will undertake should they reclaim a House majority in next week’s midterm elections. The probe will be led by Representative Jim Jordan (R., Ohio), who is expected to become chairman of the Judiciary Committee should Republicans take the House….

The lengthy document details alleged FBI misconduct under President Biden and in the years leading up to his presidency. Prior to Biden, the bureau abused the FISA process to ensnare first the Trump campaign and then the Trump administration in an investigation into alleged Russian collusion that was based primarily on what agents knew to be partisan opposition research paid for by the Clinton campaign.

Once Biden took office, the report alleges, the Department of Justice under Attorney General Merrick Garland began wielding the FBI to harass political enemies, including the wave of parents who protested school closures and radical curricula changes during school-board meetings over the 2020-2021 school year.

The handling of Hunter Biden as well as the Biden family more broadly, “is especially striking,” the draftees allege given “how the FBI leadership has aggressively used law-enforcement authorities against conservatives.”

Finally, some accountability. We won’t know committee assignments until after the election. Baugh is a lawyer and might end up on the Judiciary Committee. But pushing up the GOP majority in the House gives them more clout to clean out the mess of tyranny imposed on our great country.

If America is about anything, it’s about freedom. Electing Steel, Baugh, Maryott and Republicans everywhere will help restore it. Otherwise, it’ll be gone faster than you can say, “Let’s go Brandon!”
