Wars drive people insane. That happened with Ryan Routh, now accused of attempting to assassinate former President Trump on Sunday. You can get his book online at Amazon’s Kindle store, at least as of my writing this, for $2.99. It has the long and unstable title, “Unwinnable War: The fatal flaw of Democracy, world abandonment and the global citizen; Taiwan, Afghanistan, North Korea, World War II and the End of Humanity.” For some reason the book cover is shown horizontally:
It was published on Feb. 28, 2023. So it doesn’t reflect events since then, such as Kamala Harris’ elevation to challenge Trump.
Reportedly Routh tried to recruit Afghans who were veterans and fought for the U.S. during that long war, 2001-2021, and get them sent to fight for Ukraine. But the Ukrainians were super-suspicious of them and any other foreigners.
Here are some quotes. He is fond of run-on sentences. On assassinating Russian President Vladimir Putin:
I think that he is the only one driving the ship and not a single soul in Moscow has any ideas or leadership capabilities. They are all cowards that simply bend to the will of Putin and when he is gone it will be a vacuum. I would like for someone to give me the name of the person that will take over when Putin is gone.
Actually, Putin is the moderate in the Russian government. A replacement would be more hawkish.
On nuclear war, p. 92:
Again, we must instigate this war and push the issue to the end. All Nato nations have missile defense systems in place to eliminate the [sic] what Putin sends and the fallout will blow in his direction.
Actually, Reagan’s Strategic Defense Initiative/Star Wars program never was built. And if Russia attacks NATO in Europe it also would nuke the United States directly, with the fallout killing almost everybody here.
Why do we not call it what it is and recognize that it is World War three. Iran and China have already sided with Russia and we must stand for the moral [sic] of the world and never back down. We must end this cycle of stupidity so that future generations are not faced with the same problems.
A nuclear war would end the people along with the problems.
When I look back at Hiroshima and Nagasaki or tragic events such as Chernobyl and Fukashima, it all may be horrible but we have been able to manage the cleanup and deal with the disaster. Why are we afraid to deal with that again? Nuclear weapons put a quick and decisive end to World War 2, so why are we afraid now. Why do we even have nuclear weapons if we are not prepared to use them?
Actually, in August 1945 Japan’s Navy was sunk and almost all its airplanes shot down. The U.S. also wielded only three nuclear weapons. Contrast that with Russia’s 1,500 nuclear missiles that can devastate America.
Russia has the economy of Texas and yet we run from them in fear.
I know the guy’s a madman. But apparently a lot of people believe this. GDP numbers are inaccurate. And Texas, population 30 million, could if it wanted to field a 1 million-man army with nuclear weapons. North Korea, population 26 million, currently wields 50 nuclear bombs with the missiles to deliver them, and arms 1.3 million active-duty troops, despite the country’s starvation poverty.
For some reason on p. 279 Routh ties assassinating Trump to the latter’s cancellation of the Iran nuclear deal Secretary of State John Kerry negotiated during the Obama administration:
I would like to celebrate the amazing work of John Kerry that very humbly and humanly [sic?] handled the Iran deal which elated me and the whole of the world. I must take part of the blame for the retarded child that we elected for our next president that ended up being brainless, but I am man enough to say that I misjudged and made a terrible mistake and Iran I apologize. You are free to assassinate Trump as well as me for that error in judgment and the dismantling of the deal. No one here in the US seems to have the balls to put natural selection to work or even unnatural selection. I am further saddened by the incompetency of the current negotiators to bring the deal back to life.
I’m not sure what natural selection has to do with anything. But is he saying he backed Trump in 2016, but now regrets it? But the New York Post headlined, “Alleged would-be Trump assassin Ryan Routh, 58, of Hawaii echoed Harris, Biden’s anti-Trump rhetoric as he backed Dem candidates”:
The alleged gunman who authorities said targeted former President Trump while he golfed in Florida Sunday afternoon previously declared on social media that “Democracy is on the ballot” this year, and “we cannot lose” — echoing the anti-Trump rhetoric used by Vice President Kamala Harris and President Biden….
Routh, who has a lengthy criminal record from North Carolina, frequently posted about politics and exclusively donated to Democratic candidates and causes dating back to 2019.
We’re going to find out a lot more about Routh. And we again have questions about how the Secret Service let this man get so close to Trump, apparently within 400-500 yards and with a rifle with a scope. He likely was trained to use it and this could have ended very badly. Doesn’t the SS scour the internet, including Kindle books, to identify and closely watch kooks talking about assassinating political figures?
A crazy election year keeps getting crazier. And we’re not even into October.
The book cover is shown horizontally to represent everything the man has done being sideways.
