Trump Should Cut Europe Loose: Their Population and Economy Are Larger than Ours
(Follow me on X: @writejohnseiler)
Aren’t you tired of the Europeans whining about how they need us to liberate Ukraine from the Russian Yoke? Even as the United States goes bankrupt? Why can’t they do it themselves? Let’s look at the economy, population and defense spending numbers; as well as a U.S. debt chart. Links are included.
First, GDP. These are IMF figures, based on Purchasing Power Parity, the best estimate:
Non-U.S. NATO $33 trillion;
U.S. $30 trillion;
Russia $7 trillion.
Next are the population numbers:
Non-U.S. NATO 631 million
United States 342 million
Russia 140 million
And let’s look at defense spending numbers:
Non-U.S. Nato $430 billion;
United States $841 billion;
Russia $145 billion.
Remember, the U.S. defends not only Europe, but the Pacific Ocean, a place with almost no non-U.S. NATO effort, the Middle East and the Arctic (with a little help from Canada and Europe).
NATO without the United States obviously could take care of its own defense, and do what it wants with Ukraine. Let them. No more begging!
Finally, the U.S. National Debt Clock keeps ticking upward and currently is: $36,549,982,452,321.47. For everyone, including a new child or grandchild born today, it’s: $107,360.00. Here is the U.S. debt chart from the St. Louis FED:
We can’t afford any longer to subsidize the European welfare cheats.
The Europeans are richer than we are and have a bigger population. They don’t need us. They need to stop freeloading off us. Trump should get the U.S. out of NATO.
Come home, America.
The US can never be broke as long as the Fed can continue to create dollars in its computer to loan to us. On the other hand, it will take an exponentially increasing number of those dollars to buy anything.
