Two of the few remaining great journalists out there are Matt Taibbi and Glenn Greenwald. They go after the story, no matter what. I disagree with most of their views. But they are real journalists, instead of the poseurs at the Main Stream Media sites.
Both left their previous perches, Taibbi from Rolling Stone and Greenwald from The Intercept, which he co-founded, for the freedom of reporting real stories without being censored.
Another guy I follow is a Pedro Gonzalez, a young conservative of philosophical bent. He’s providing a fresh look at some old issues, such as hiking the minimum wage. I still think it’s a bad idea, but it’s worth rethinking from a conservative perspective. Whatever conservative means nowadays.
So I thought I would open a Substack site myself and start writing here. Like Beverly Hills for the Clampetts, it’s the place you want to be.
Please join my list to get my future missives.
It’s free. But I might later decide to monetize it.
I’ll be writing on California and U.S. politics, philosophy, history, movies, books, music and more.
Enjoy. Leave a comment.
And pass it around.
