Your Sons – and Daughters – Soon Could Die in Niger
If I die in a combat zone,
Box me up and ship me home.
That marching cadence popped into my noggin from U.S. Army Boot Camp, Feb.-April 1978, at beautiful, bucolic Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo.
As America soon could become embroiled in yet another war. This time in Niger, a small country in Africa. Like Ukraine, most Americans couldn’t find it on a map even if you promised them a trip to Disneyland.
Yet your sons – and daughters – soon could be dying there. Victoria Nuland, now the No. 2 at the State Department, brings wars in the wake everywhere she visits: Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria – and most recently, Ukraine. The Middle East wars alone, according to a recent study by Brown University, killed 432,000 civilians and displaced 38 million.
In 2014 she visited Kiev and handed out cookies. Shortly after, the Obama-Biden regime fomented a putsch against the legitimate, democratic government of Ukraine, putting in charge the current dictatorship. Followed by war. Still ongoing. Possibly nuclear.
She also recently visited Niger, just after it suffered a coup. This time against the U.S.-backed “democracy.” Reported Politico:
Acting Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland also described the mutinous officers as unreceptive to U.S. pressure to return the country to civilian rule.
“They were quite firm about how they want to proceed, and it is not in support of the constitution of Niger,” Nuland told reporters. She characterized the conversations as “extremely frank and at times quite difficult.”
She spoke after a two-hour meeting in Niger’s capital, Niamey, with some leaders of the military takeover of a country that has been a vital counterterrorism partner of the United States.
In speaking to junta leaders, Nuland said, she made “absolutely clear the kinds of support that we will legally have to cut off if democracy is not restored.”
Actually, they will be better off without U.S. “aid,” which always comes with tight strings attached, such as promoting depopulation. The U.S.’ ruling elite is obsessed with reducing Africa’s high birth rates. See this article from the Wilson Center. That’s right. Even as the ruling elite lecture us about improving the lives of blacks in America, they’re trying to get rid of them in Africa.
But the Niger situation really is about uranium. According to the World Nuclear Association, “Niger has two significant uranium mines providing about 5% of world mining output from Africa’s highest-grade uranium ores.”
It’s the prime source of uranium for France, its former and perhaps future colonizer, which derives 70% of its electricity from nuclear power. That has insulated France from most of the consequences of the boycott by the EU, at the behest of the US, of Russian energy; specifically the natural gas from the Nordstream pipeline the US blew up. Paris needs the uranium.
France’s military is a far cry from the days of Napoleon. It still has the French Foreign Legion, which seems excellent. With Russia’s rough equivalent, the Wagner Group, apparently hired by the new Niger regime to help out, a Wagner vs. FFL fight would be interesting.
But, let’s face it, the shrunken French regular military is a shadow of what it was under Napoleon, or even de Gaulle. The cast of the new movie “Napoleon” could defeat its modern heirs.
Which means U.S. involvement will be required. SecState Anthony Blinken warned:
I think what happened, and what continues to happen in Niger, was not orchestrated by Russia or Wagner. But insofar as they take advantage of it – and this is a repetition of what has happened in other countries, where they have brought only bad things in their wake – it is not a good thing. Wherever Wagner went: death, destruction, and exploitation followed.
Sounds like they’re getting ready to send your kids to die for uranium.
If I die in a combat zone,
Box me up and ship me home.
Pin my medals on my chest,
Tell my Momma I did my best.
