My Uncle Al went ashore in Normandy on D-Day Plus One as a U.S. Army MP and nearly was killed by “friendly fire.” My father, after whom I’m named, went ashore shortly after, a captain of ordinance in a battalion that repaired the tanks, jeeps, artillery, etc. that won the war against Hitler. He didn’t directly see combat, but was bombed enough times by Stukas.
Even if it were true that 350,000 Russians are dead or wounded, it would be a vile thing to celebrate. It seems to me that even for most of the Cold War there was a recognition of the other side’s humanity and there wouldn’t be public gloating at their losses.
To see a powerful 80 year old man celebrating the death of countless young men in a war he has fomented and not even tried to end is obscene.
This is a really good point. Biden could have stopped this war from starting, or stopped it after the Russia-Ukraine peace deal in Turkey. He didn't all those deaths, and possibly nuclear annihilation, are on his hands.
Biden doesn't care because he will be out of here before most of the rest of us.
Right!
